In Latin America, the cultural identity of the original inhabitants, shaped by the geographical region during thousands of years, is more and more mingled with the- so called- civilisation of the european conquerors. Of course, today the indigenous peoples cohabitate with the european descendants and their cultures, but also stand up for keeping their own territories, tradtions, languages and customs.
